A Good Thesis:
- is sophisticated (versus obvious, flat, reductive, unreflective)
- needs to be proved (by providing evidence)
- is not overly complex (can be stated in one or two sentences)
- is focused
- organizes your points
- leads somewhere
- is original
Finding a Thesis:
- brainstorm
- seek a unifying idea
- qualify and anticipate objections
