This page lists anthologies, miscellanies and other kinds of collections that group texts according to period -- a means of selection that is often more constitutive than it is representative of the periods themselves. The limits of these volumes are often chronological and generic (as in "poetry of the 17th century"); some tend to gesture toward the Age as a natural and self-evident division of history (the age of Johnson; the Elizabethan age); and some rely simply on the familiar period constructs of the Romantic, the Renaissance, the Victorian.
